Soleil Store

Soleil Store is an independent clothing label based in Room 9 at Maker Heights.

The 3 female artists design and hand create ethical and sustainable garments to support their slow fashion brand values which is seen throughout their collections.

Slow fashion refers to the style, design and quality of the item of clothing, as well as the intention behind how it was made (a.k.a. – not a fast fashion brand).

For the customer, it involves buying clothing which is lasting: made of durable fabrics and staying away from fluctuating trends so you can still wear the pieces you love years down the road…

Maker Camp

We operate a ‘wild camping’ site with all the essentials. This season, we have invested in new shower and washing facilities, along with a new reception reception area.

Maker Camp is run by the Rame Conservation Trust. We are non-profit making, with all of the money received from the campsite being re-invested into to the Trust.

Dom Moore is a well established freelance photographer, working for just under a decade in the southwest. many can attest to Dom Moore’s ability behind the lens, and the service he provides.

He boasts a skilled ability to capture those delicate fleeting moments with a natural poise. Dom is renowned for his personable and non-invasive, professional attitude. Photography is Dom’s passion, his livelihood.

The Canteen

Ex-River Cottage chef Nick’s new laid-back café-come-restaurant is serving up a treat at Maker Heights.

Only inquisitive and curious diners make it to The Canteen at Maker Heights, off-the-beaten-track and at the top of the last hill on the Rame Peninsula before you meet the River Tamar. We like it that way, and we think the team running it likes it that way too.

The food is rustic and definitely nods to chef Nick Platt’s time at River Cottage, except the menu here is very good value. We also should mention that the kiddies menu has just been given a special mention in the Sunday Times as one of their favorite places in Cornwall to take children to eat.    More ……
